We strongly believe that the heritage of the German Shepherd Dog must be protected.  The Dam and Sire were whelped from imported West German working lineages that had Schutzhund training and titles.  They were carefully chosen to preserve the physical characteristics, temperament, and intelligence of the breed established in 1899 (see Important Links for more info).  We wanted to ensure the temperaments and maximum trainability of the new dogs.  Working dogs oftentimes have such high drive that they make poor pets.  However, both the Dam and Sire for these pups are exceptionally friendly, predictable, loving, loyal, and gentle.  They have high drives for work and are very intelligent and make great pets!

The puppies are raised in our home.  We work very hard to make sure the puppies are well socialized.  We handle each of them daily, gently touching their ears and paws, so that they are accustomed to being handled and examined.  This ensures you have a dog who will let you cut his toenails!  We also make sure they are exposed to normal house noises - TV, radio, pots and pans dropping and banging, doors slamming, etc.  We do this to desensitize your pup so that he remains confident and not skittish during the normal course of the day.  We also raise the pups around bigger scarier noises like power tools so that these animals can go anywhere and are confident at all times, no matter the situation!

Both the Dam and Sire are very well socialized with children.  The Dam goes regularly with me to the pet store and to kids' sporting events.  She is always confident and gentle with people who want to pet her, including children.  She is calm at all times and exceptionally observant.
